Ahmad

Ahmed came to visit our ISM apartment later in the evening, to talk, and share more of his story.

It was later in the evening, and he came by to see how we were doing. We sat down over some tea that an ISMer made, and he told us some more things about him.

Three weeks ago, Ahmed was badly beaten by Israeli soldiers. He says he was outside Ibrahimi Mosque, and they began pushing around some Palestinian women, even hitting them. The women began to try walking away, when Ahmed walked in and told the soldiers to leave them alone. The soldiers began hitting him with their rifle butts, and he was hit in the head and arm. An ambulance took him to the hospital.

The home invasion that Ahmed experienced today is something that happens at least once a week. The soldiers come to his home often on Saturdays during the day, sometimes during the night also. They go up on his roof and play dice, when Ahmed and his family are sleeping. The losers have to stand on guard duty, but at least they aren't too loud.  Of course to get in, they wake everyone up.

Some photos of Ahmed. The scars on his body are 3 weeks old.
